Assistant Management Accountant


Salary: Dependant on Experience

Contracted Hours: 40

We are looking for an Assistant Management Accountant who will be one of two, also working alongside a Management Accountant and reporting directly to a Senior Management Accountant. Working with the HFS Management Accounts Team, primarily producing monthly Accounts including assisting reviews and producing property FMR reports for specifically assigned properties and support functions. Excellent communication skills, accuracy, efficiency and an eye for detail are essential.

Key Responsibilities

- Creation and Posting of Monthly Journals

- Production of Month End Sales Recharges

- Creation and Posting of Monthly Prepayments and Accruals

- Creation and Reconciliation of Fixed Assets

- Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations

- Production of Monthly Property P&L Packs

- Bank Account Reconciliations

- Utility Invoices, Payments and Analysis

- Assisting in the Budget Process

- Attending and leading monthly financial management meetings with area and regional managers following support from team.

- Navision Administration

- Primary Contact for Internal Accounting Queries

- Developing Inter Relationships/Understandings with the Client facing Accounting Functions

- Gain a good understanding of the AR/AP functions.

- Ad Hoc Project work including process improvements.

IT Skills (includes Key Competencies)

• Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office (Excel skills are key in this role)

• Accounting Packages - ideally Navison

• A good level of IT understanding – ad-hoc packages are used within the function

Experience and Qualifications


• Good general standard of education

• AAT qualified / Studying for Professional Qualification (CIMA/ACCA)

• 2-3 Years’ experience in an Accounting/Finance function

• Good communicator and interpersonal skills

• Good organisational skills and can work in a methodical manner

• Time management skills

• Proven track record in all areas of accounts


• Full driving licence and use of own vehicle

• Experience with Payroll
