We are seeking a talented Marketing Executive to support and deliver a range of marketing activity

with a focus on student engagement, direct emails and events. The Marketing Executive will need to

be pro-active, organised and a confident communicator. The role involves speaking to 3rd party

internal and external stakeholders frequently so will need to be confident. The role varies from day

to day, there will be marketing admin tasks involved, however, if direct emails and events is your

passion, this is the perfect role for you.

Accountabilities/Responsibilities

• Co-ordinating and supporting the operations team at events, such as housing and Freshers’

Fairs.

• Co-ordinating & execution at industry events, erecting the stand and ensuring the relevant

marketing materials are accessible for the event.

• Relevant comms are created and distributed on the correct channels.

• Ensuring and monitoring success of events and reporting back on ROI and performance.

• Coordination of delivery of event items across different areas of the business.

• Messaging/content – either on our social channels or on 3rd party advertising campaigns

understanding the audience is imperative – writing engaging content will form part of the

role.

• Good understanding of social media platforms with ability to plan upcoming content and

keeping an eye on up-and-coming trends.

• Track student demographics and behaviour to ensure you are targeting activity accordingly.

• Track key marketing questions and present results on a regular basis, how did the student

come to find HFS? Why did they book with HFS? Create activity to respond.

• Keep abreast of current trends in the student accommodation market and relevant

competitors and upgrade or enhance the website and marketing activity accordingly

• Support the Sales and Marketing teams by supporting with all ideas and campaigns.

• To be flexible and work effectively with other colleagues.

• Monitor the marketing support inbox and answer enquiries.

• VERY IMPORTANT - Track lead generation and ROI on all marketing activity.

The above outlines the main duties and responsibilities of the position, however, this cannot be

comprehensive and other duties may be requested from time to time. No day is the same and the

right candidate must be aware of the fast paced & exciting day to day duties of a Marketing

Executive at Homes for Students.

Skills

• Events co-ordination, from organising, planning to execution

• Strong copywriting skills with Mailchimp or email marketing desirable

• Confident in reporting back on email performance and analytics

• Understanding of GDPR

• Confident communicator

• Intermediate to advanced use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook

• Confident presentation skills in power point or other software

• Manage external and internal stakeholders

• Ability to work as part of a team or independently

• Excellent organisational skills

• Ability to achieve goals and targets within timescales

Personal Qualities

• Must be performance driven

• Self-motivated and able to work independently

• Able to show initiative

• Willing to be flexible and respond to changing circumstances

• Demonstrate a positive ‘can do’ attitude

• Willing to travel to properties – limited travel but maybe expected

Experience and Qualifications

Essential

• Educated to degree level in marketing, or demonstrable experience in a busy marketing role

• At least 2 years marketing experience with a proven track record

• Experience in content writing, with a passion for writing content and understanding the

audience

• Experience in working with 3rd party suppliers/agencies/partners

• Passion for events and making them a success

• Experience in coordinating events

Desirable

• Experience of marketing in the student sector

• Experience in delivering national & regional campaigns

• Experience in a traditional marketing role
