If you have a passion for Marketing and what to start you career in the marketing world or have some experience and seeking a new challenge, we are seeking a Marketing Assistant to join our Marketing Team. The Marketing Assistant will need to be pro-active, well organised and have a passion for traditional marketing. There will be an aspect of speaking to 3rd party suppliers daily, so will need to be confident, a strong communicator and a natural at building relationships, internally and externally. The role varies from day to day and there will be marketing admin tasks involved, however if traditional marketing is your passion this is the ideal role for somebody with an understanding of marketing.


• Messaging/content – either on our social channels or on 3rd party advertising campaigns understanding the audience is imperative – writing engaging content will form part of the role.

• Good understanding of social media platforms and able to plan upcoming content and keeping an eye on up-and-coming trends.

• Maintaining and auditing external 3rd party websites, ensuring all content/pricing and photography is always correct and accurate.

• Work with all 3rd party agencies/partners to develop better working solutions and drive down costs.

• Coordination of delivery of items across different areas of the business such as campaign and marketing material.

• Track key marketing questions and present results on a regular basis, how did the student come to find HFS? Why did they book with HFS? Create activity to respond.

• Keep abreast of current trends in the student accommodation market and relevant competitors and upgrade or enhance the website and marketing activity accordingly

• Support the sales and marketing department by supporting with all ideas and campaigns.

• To be flexible and work effectively with other colleagues.

• Liaise with the property teams regarding local marketing activity and ensure they have all the tools required locally to drive lead generation.

• Monitor the marketing support inbox and answer enquiries.

• VERY IMPORTANT - Track lead generation and ROI on all marketing activity

• Must have strong written English skills for content writing

• Strong communicator

• Intermediate to advanced use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook

• Project planning

• Good presentation skills in power point or other software

• Manage external and internal stakeholders

• Ability to work as part of a team or independently

• Excellent organisational skills

• Negotiating skills

• Ability to achieve goals and targets within timescales

Experience and Qualifications


• Educated to degree level in marketing or experience within a marketing role previously

• At least 2 years marketing experience with a proven track record

• Experience in content writing, passion for writing content and understanding the audience

• Experience in, working with 3rd party suppliers/agencies/partners

• Passion for traditional marketing


• Experience of marketing in the student sector

• Experience in project planning

• Experience in delivering national & regional campaigns

• Experience in a traditional marketing role
